Flood Plain Maps
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has undertaken a re-study of the City of Bellbrook’s floodways and floodplains using new topographic data and as a result has developed new detailed digital flood hazard maps, which have been adopted to replace the existing Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) approved in 1977. In addition, the map has changed from a local community format to a county wide format. The new flood study and maps have been adopted as part of the Bellbrook Zoning Code, Article #15, Flood Damage Prevention, by legislative action, including public hearings, by the Bellbrook Planning Board and the Bellbrook City Council.

Properties that are affected by this change were notified by letter from the Bellbrook Zoning Office on February 11, 2009. The letter included information regarding the flood insurance study and stated that some properties that were previously identified in a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) have been removed, while other properties that were not previously identified in a SFHA have been included.

Copies of the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) are available for review at the Bellbrook Municipal Building, 15 East Franklin Street, 2nd Floor, Bellbrook. You may review the FIRMs at the city Administration office during regular office hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. You can also view the maps on FEMA's Flood Map Service Center website.
