Comprehensive Plan Update: 2018
What is the Comprehensive Plan?

The city is undertaking an update to the 1974 Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is a document that describes the history, current condition, and future vision for the community. It serves as a guide for future growth and development while promoting the health, safety and general welfare of the people.

The Comprehensive Plan should reflect the ideas and opinions of our residents and businesses. The Planning Board held a 6-week online survey from April to May where we received over 150 responses.  The Board will evaluate the survey results and hold meetings open to the public to gather more input to continue to mold and form the new Comprehensive Plan.
What are the Next Steps?

The Planning Board has conducted an online survey and will be holding public meetings designed to encourage input from residents and businesses.  From these meetings, the Board will then start writing the Comprehensive Plan Update.  Once the Update is complete, it will go to City Council for approval.  After the plan is approved, it will be used for future development decisions.

Public Meeting Dates

October 11 - Planning Board meeting to discuss the primary goals to be included in the plan

November 1 - Planning Board meeting to gather public input and have discussion on the plan's primary goals

November 29 - Planning Board meeting to review the public input and insert into the draft of the Comprehensive Plan

December 10 - tentative date for City Council to review and accept the recommendation of the Planning Board and draft of the Comprehensive Plan
Downtown Bellbrook Walkable Community Workshop Report: 2017

The Greene County Regional Planning Commission has released the Downtown Bellbrook Walkable Community Workshop report.  The workshop was held on April 12 where the city hosted over 40 residents and community leaders.  The workshop was a combined effort between the Greene County Regional Planning Commission, the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission, and the City of Bellbrook.

The discussion focused on exploring elements of the downtown area that we can build on to create a more pedestrian friendly, walkable environment.  Attendees worked in groups to facilitate discussion and toured various parts of downtown.

The results of the workshop and this report will be incorporated into the city's comprehensive plan update.  The comprehensive plan update will occur over the next year and the city will provide more information as the process proceedes.
